Duncan's Bio

I am the oldest of three children and was born in Leicester, England.

I had a great and fulfilling childhood, although I never really enjoyed going to school. Nevertheless, I completed my O-Levels and 3 A-Levels at college.

University was never an option for me. Instead I worked for 6 months at Eastern Shires Purchasing Organization (ESPO), a warehouse supplying stationery for schools. I loved being out of the classroom and getting down to work. I was saving for the next stage of my life.

Between 2002-2004, I served as a volunteer missionary for the church for 2 years in Malaysia and Singapore. I served in Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Singapore, Kuching and Ipoh. They were the best two years of my life, and ones which I always look back on with great pride and satisfaction.

After completing my missionary service I worked at Burton McCall, a warehouse supplying all sorts of camping equipment and kitchenware. Had a great time with them in two stints. The second stint came after my 3-month holiday to Malaysia.

I returned to south-east Asia to meet up with my friends from my missionary service there. In the process I inadvertently bumped into the girl who would later become my wife!

I worked hard at Burton McCall during our engagement period, often working overtime whenever it was available. I saved a lot of money for our upcoming marriage in 2006.

I married Fidelia in May 2006 and we have been living in Kuantan ever since where I teach English tuition.

I blog about life in Kuantan at www.duncaninkuantan.blogspot.com and I've experienced a good deal of success with my blog thus far.
